INITIAL BOOK IDEAS...

DEPICTED DREAMS
Outline of intent:
Create a visually surreal diary like book, consisting of my own (and others) weird, wonderful and memorable dreams.

Visual Research:
Denis Olivier...

Denis Olivier is a photographer who combined techniques of gray-scale photographing and photo manipulating in order to create his collection of photos dedicated to the world of dreams. Here you can see some of his photos where he tried to express his dreams. -fludit.com

Michael Vincent Manalo...

A self-taught digital mixed media artist, a photographer and a musician. The themes that are mostly seen on his work revolve around surrealism, pseudo-realism, nostalgic sentiments, and human emotion. He creates his art through merging scenes that have been captured within his mind with scenes that have been captured by his camera to create the living space that his subconscious tries to convey. He does all this through Photoshop. -deviantart.com

The visual nature of dreams is generally highly phantasmagoric; that is, different locations and objects continuously blend into each other. The visuals (including locations, characters/people, objects/artefacts) are generally reflective of a person's memories and experiences, but often take on highly exaggerated and bizarre forms.

Aims & Objectives:
-To produce a creative visual diary exploring the above statement using photography and      photo manipulation

-So to make sure enough source material is gathered I will ask friends and associates to                   record any interesting dreams they experience

-The final images may range from distinct to indistinct, sharp to blurry, depending on the vividness or vagueness of the dream

-For further inspiration I may also look at peoples’ daydreams, aspirations, and fantasies
